Family Consultation

Start with your family, your routines and the places where everyday life feels hardest.
A Family Consultation is a focused session designed to help you step back, look at what's happening in everyday life and identify practical ways to move forward.
We'll talk through your family's priorities, current routines, existing supports and the specific moments that are creating challenges. Rather than focusing on one behavior or isolated skill, we'll look at the larger picture — including the environment, expectations, sequence of the routine, visual or adaptive supports and the people involved.
Together, we'll identify potential barriers and develop practical next steps that fit your family, your home and the realities of everyday life.
What We Can Explore
Family Consultations can focus on areas including:
Morning and evening routines
Showering and personal hygiene
Toileting
Toothbrushing
Dressing and getting ready
Household responsibilities
Visual schedules and supports
Executive functioning and routine completion
Environmental setup and organization
Increasing participation in everyday tasks
Creating consistency across parents, caregivers and other support people
What You'll Leave With
You'll leave with a clearer understanding of where to begin, practical strategies you can start using at home and recommendations for visual supports, environmental changes or routine adjustments that may make the skill easier to understand, practice and repeat.
When appropriate, we'll also identify whether your family may benefit from additional parent/caregiver training or in-home implementation support.
A Practical Starting Point
You don't need to have everything figured out before we meet. Bring the routines that aren't working, the strategies you've already tried and the questions you haven't been able to answer.
We'll start there.
